Stress Factors of Volunteers Working With Older People in Residential Facilities in České Budějovice

The bachelor's thesis considers stress factors of volunteering in long-term residential care. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the themes of volunteering, ageing and old age and identifies several selected stress factors. The practical part of the thesis represents the data interpretation from in-depth semi-structured interviews with volunteers who are managed by volunteer centres in České Budějovice and who also visit older people in cooperating long-term residential care.
Development of youth volleyball in Nachodsko region

Title: Possibilities of volleyball development in Náchod region Objectives: The primary goal of this thesis is to identify and analyze current problems of volleyball development in selected region of Náchod and also to propose possible solutions to the most significant issues. Secondary goal is to analyze current membership base, financial situation of volleyball clubs and other presumed problems preventing good development of volleyball sport in given region. Methods: The main method used in this thesis is a case study based on the analysis of primary and secondary data complemented by simple quantitative methods. Primary data was obtained from semi-structured interviews with local professionals. Secondary data were collected from the clubs historical materials, internet and other sources. To complement the case study there is also basic quantitative analysis of secondary data obtained from the statistics of membership base based on analyzing occurrence frequency and percentage reports for selected volleyball clubs. Results: There are main findings about membership base in Czechia which is constantly declining. The work focuses on the organized form of volunteering in social services. Theoretical part is concerned with the phenomenon of volunteering in social services and organized forms of work with volunteers Practical part focuses on the attitude of volunteers themselves towards selected organization and the work they perform within the organization and answers following questions: Is organized volunteering helpful or is it rather a burdening obligation? Can volunteers see results of their work with a client? How does organized form of volunteering affects the work with the client and do volunteers appreciate this form as a way of improving their work with the client? The research is conducted mainly by doing interviews and via questionnaires.
The Involvement of Civic Sector Organizations in the Area of Foreigner's Education: The Comparison of Situation in the Czech Republic and in the Netherlands.

In this thesis the activities of civic sector organisations (CSOs) in the field of foreign children's education in the Czech Republic and in the Netherlands are described. The aim is to analyze conditions which are in the field of foreign children's education in both countries, and methods and instruments which are used by CSOs. In the Netherlands there is a lot of experience with immigrants from all over the world so know how of Dutch CSOs can serve as an inspiration for Czech CSOs since in the CR there is lack of experience with immigrants. In both countries a qualitative research was done. The research was made on the basis of knowledge acquired in specialised literature. It includes semistructured interviews with CSOs members, and in the case of the Netherlands interviews with employees of two Dutch schools and with an expert on foreign children's education. Effectiveness Assessment Options for the "Ve dvou se to lépe táhne" Mentoring Program

This diploma thesis is focused on measurement of effectiveness of the one to one peer coeval mentoring programme "Ve dvou se to lépe táhne" that was designated for youth at risk. The main goal of the thesis is to choose an appropriate way how to measure programme effectiveness and verify the possibility to integrate it with the methodology of the programme. In the introduction of the theoretical part of thesis there are given the definitions of adolescence and changes related with this age, circumstances that threaten youth at risk and the list of programmes, available in the Czech Republic, for youth at risk. Moreover there is introduced the program "Ve dvou se to lépe táhne" and possibilities for evaluation of the programme in particular from the impact on clients point of view. Practical part gives information about the chosen evaluation method and its modification corresponding with particularities of the programme, further describes the implementation stage of the method and finally a pilot version of the modified method on the basis of created questionnaires is assessed.
The involvement of Czech volunteer doctors in the Balcan wars 1912 - 1913: Its impact and influence on the development of Balcan health care

Bachelor thesis "The involvement of Czech volunteer doctors in the Balkan wars 1912 - 1913: Its impact and influence on the development of Balkan health care" focuses on the Czech volunteer doctors during the Balkan wars 1912 - 1913 but other volunteer workers are also considered. The relations between the Czech representation and the Balkan states are presented. To explain the motivation of the volunteers the Czech pan-Slavism and the relations to other Slavic countries are briefly examined. The reactions to the outbreak of the war among the ordinary Czech citizens are mentioned, especially the financial and other support. The responses of the Austria-Hungarian authorities are presented. The concrete actions taken by the Czech doctors are examined and compared to the local habits and knowledge. Difficulties and problems faced by the doctors are also presented.
Personal management of Junák

This diploma thesis investigates the human resource management in Junak. It focuses on the basic organisational units in Junak. The topic of the diploma thesis follows the personal areas from Strategy 2022, which contains visions that are supposed to be fullfilled by 2022. The aim of this study is to monitor the practice of human resource management in organisational units with good people management. The theoretical part involves explanations of human resource management fundamental terms and engages in relevant subjects which are related. The empirical part is divided into two areas. The first one introduces the Scout movement in general, the Scout organisation in Great Britain and the organisation Junak and its strategy. It describes the organisational structures and focuses on the department of human resource management and support for volunteers. The second area is the research itself. Sixty Scout units were chosen for the study. I addressed 18 leaders of units according to some qualitative indicators and special recommendations, 14 interviews took place. Interviews focused on the practical experience, inspiration, personal attitudes and opinions of the leaders or their deputies. Influence of the European Union on the mobility of volunteers coming to the Czech Republic

Diploma thesis "Influence of the European Union on the mobility of volunteers coming to the Czech Republic" deals with the mobility of volunteers from partner countries of the EU who participate in the European Voluntary Service - the EU programme of. non -formal education in the Czech Republic. The thesis follows the existing development of mobility of people till 2004, when the Council of the EU used its increased competence in the area of freedom, security and justice and approved the Directive 2004/114/EC on the conditions of admission of third - country nationals for the purpose of studies, pupils exchange, unremunerated training or voluntary service. It is the first time ever when the Directive mentions the volunteers as a specific target group of the mobility for educational purpose. The paper evaluates if the directive reflects the present challenges of recognition of the non - formal education on the European level. Further on, it focuses specifically on the year 2007 when the influence of the European legislature entered into the immigration policy of the Czech Republic, particularly in the amendment of the act on residence of foreigners on the territory of the Czech Republic n. 326/1999 Sb. which among others allows the volunteers in the age of 18 till 25 years old to apply for the...
